ACCT 3300:  FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT OF NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS
Three semester hours

Purpose of Course

This course concerns financial management and accounting for nonprofit entities.  Nonprofits will include coverage of voluntary health and welfare organizations, churches, and foundations.

The class components will include:

  • Text readings and assignments
  • Cases to give real-life scenarios
  • Projects and assignments that encourage application and awareness of issues

Student Responsibilities

You are expected to come to class prepared, having read assigned materials and done written work in a timely manner. Your input is critical to making the class interesting and valuable.

Assignments listed with an * should be completed using Word or Excel as appropriate.  These should be emailed as attachments to the instructor by class time on the date listed in the syllabus.  Answers to other assignments maybe submitted within the body of an email or written by hand and turned in during class.

Students who have special clinically based problems that might affect their performance in class should notify the instructor during the first week of school. Possible arrangements can be made to work closely with the Learning Center, a tutor, or special time by the instructor.
